The traditional target tracking system based on PC couldnt meet the requirements of volume, power consumption and portability. Based on the ARM processor S3C2440A and embedded Linux operating system, a complete and practical target tracking system was built. The system used the camera to capture the moving target image, the processor to process digital image, the LCD to display tracking target. This paper described the realization principle and process of image acquisition, target detection, image segmentation and tracking algorithm. Through the actual test, the system can meet the detection, tracking and identification of low speed moving objects, and has good real-time performance and stability.
