This paper found the sintering furnace control system of a Nonferrous Metals Company in Yin chuan is difficult to meet production requirements because of some problems like serious aging, low degree of automation by investigating the company. This paper would upgrade the sintering furnace control system based on the original one to achieve optimal control. Because the furnace control system has characteristics like nonlinear and time-delay, it’s difficult to meet the production requirements by relying on general PID, so this paper proposed a control strategy of PID Parameter self-tuning which use MATLAB simulator to make algorithm simulation, choose Siemens S7-300PLC as core controller, touch screen as host computer MCGS Software development interface to achieve monitor the entire sintering process real time, finally achieve the automatic control for the SCR regulating device. The result shows that this program improve the enterprise's production efficiency, and can meet the control requirements.
