In wireless sensor network positioning schemes, APIT is widely used because it is easy, entails low hardware cost and provides high positioning accuracy. But its algorithm performance is severely affected by uneven distribution of anchors. A non-distance localization algorithm based on perpendicular bisector is proposed to improve node positioning accuracy and solve the edge effect problem of APIT. The proposed algorithm selects anchors using RSSI values and fixes the position by combining with the geometrical principle that the mid perpendicular of the base line in the isosceles triangle passes the vertex. The positioning accuracy is enhanced in this way and the stable performance is achieved. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively improve positioning accuracy and coverage of the wireless sensor network.
